​Presentation Synopsis:  Storytelling is a powerful, effective, and science-backed communication tool that excites us, inspires us, and helps us build lasting connections. We all have plenty of practice telling stories in our personal and professional lives, but how can we harness the power of story to enhance our leadership presence? This session will discuss the storytelling skills, strategies, and structures leaders need to project authenticity and confidence. By pulling from advanced writing and presenting techniques, listeners will be introduced to narrative-based approaches that serve executives, entrepreneurs, and leaders at every stage of their careers. Participants will learn about the most effective kinds of storytelling by drawing on each other’s experiences in leadership and, of course, each other’s stories. Storytelling provides a powerful opportunity to make our visions, ideas, and perspectives not only heard but truly felt by an audience, making it an essential tool for every leader.  

Speaker Biography:  Susan is an authentic, results-oriented entrepreneur, Professional Certified Coach, CHRL, and CHRP. She holds 20+ years of experience partnering with C-Suite executives, entrepreneurs, and women in executive positions across sectors. As Founder & CEO of consulting advisory and coaching firm PowerUp Leadership, Susan works with clients at companies like Meta, Google, and Intuit to find actionable solutions to unique challenges. A speaker with past engagements at CPHR Nova Scotia and Women with Drive, among others, Susan brings a fresh perspective. She draws on her executive and entrepreneurial experience to share dynamic stories, strategies, and solutions that inspire bold, creative leadership.
