Presentation Synopsis: This session will provide insight into the impacts of organizational culture and how that influences project ambitions and success. The understanding of how culture impacts project outcomes is often managed intuitively, and managers can underestimate it's influence on sponsors, and the need for critical project artefacts and methods. This can include a lack of requirements, not implementing appropriate project management methodologies and controls, and the mis-management of risks. Alternatively, understanding organizational culture correctly can lead to projects that delight clients and stakeholders while delivering real value.

Speaker Biography: Doug is a senior project manager and Principal at Sierra Systems, an NTT Data company in Halifax. He has over 20 years of experience in professional service consulting, technology and business operations, and project delivery for clients in Justice, Elections Management, Health Care, and Power Systems Operational Technology with a focus on IT technology integration. Doug started working as a technologist in the 1990s building and developing Internet Technologies for startups and large telecommunication companies. Doug worked as a technology consultant from and 2000 and in 2013 transitioned to full-time project management and became a certified Project Management Professional in 2016.
