Presentation Synopsis: The focus of this discussion is the responsibility of senior IT Management professionals in growing, enabling and mentoring the next generation(s) of professional IT Management. In a world of aging populations, longer work lives and significant changes in management styles, consideration needs to be given to the methods, responsibilities, cultural changes and adaptive approaches appropriate to sustaining the gains, and learnings from an industry with over70 years of collective IT management history. The impact of enhanced communications technologies, changes in lifestyles and generational overlaps and diversities would be discussed. With over 40 years experience in a very dynamic period of social and technological change, Mr. Buckley will articulate his thoughts on what the 'mentor' generation must do to pass the torch to the next generation.
Speaker’s Bio: John Buckley is a Director of Consulting Services with Sierra Systems in Halifax. .Mr. Buckley has over 40 years’ experience in the information systems industry and has held a number of senior level positions in both industry and government.
Mr. Buckley’s experience has provided him with a broad knowledge of general management, health care, insurance, finance and information systems in a variety of settings. Mr. Buckley’s experience is a unique combination of both consulting and operational management roles. He has established himself as an effective strategist and relationship manager capable of turning strategy into reality and operating with comfort and confidence at all organizational levels.
