Apache Spark: The new Language of Analytics
Presentation Synopsis: The world of analytics is currently in the midst of a seismic, once in a lifetime technology shift. Apache Spark, initially developed by Canadian Computer Scientist Matei Zaharia, is fundamentally changing the analytics landscape. Organizations of all sizes are embracing this revolutionary technology at a record pace. Blazingly fast, highly scalable, fault-torrent and easy to use, Spark supports a wide range of analytical, data science, AI, and data processing use cases.

Analytics and Spark expert Ian J. Ghent will guide you through the history of the project, noting the evolutionary steps the platform has taken since its initial release in 2014. He will provide an overview of fundamental concepts, and a survey of some of the sleek tools that are part of the Spark ecosystem, including a live demonstration.
