Start Up, or Reset, Information Management

Presentation Synopsis: Starting up – or resetting – an information management program requires a current situation assessment, developing a strategy, preparing a road map and plan, and guiding the implementation of key foundation competencies.
Whilst the Data Management Association’s Body of Knowledge (DM-BOK) provided principal guidance, ideas from other thinkers in specialty fields were adopted and adapted to the situation at banks in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi.
This session will describe the six step process, hurdles and results.
Speaker’s Bio: Bill Carroll recently returned to Canada after six years as the Executive Manager EIM, implementing information management programs for banks in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi. His work experience spans 20+ clients in manufacturing, insurance, banking, environmental management, defence, customs, taxation, airline operations and air traffic management.
Mr. Carroll is currently on assignment with a federal government department, assisting with the technical strategy and support areas for business analytics.
